A dispersal order has been put in place in Hindley tonight after numerous reports of kids causing anti-social behaviour.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said they had received eight reports which included 'youths throwing several items at cars' and 'alcohol-related disturbances.'

A 48-hour dispersal order covering the town centre has now been put in place.

It will remain in force until 3pm on Monday (September 29).

The order, made under Section 35 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act, gives officers the power to issue a written notice to exclude a person from an area for a period of up to 48 hours.
