Other than a few kicks, the Montana State football team was basically flawless in its Big Sky Conference opener.

Air-tight defense and explosive offense led the No. 4-ranked Bobcats (3-2) to a 57-3 Homecoming win over Eastern Washington (1-4) on Saturday afternoon at Bobcat Stadium. It was Brent Vigen’s 50th win as MSU head coach.

MSU finished the game with a 580-207 advantage in total yards. It was the Cats’ highest-scoring game since their 57-14 home win over EWU in 2023, and it’s their largest-ever margin of victory against the Eagles.

The last time MSU won by at least 54 points was 2016 (55-0 over Western Oregon), and it's the Cats' largest victory over a Division I team since 2015 (63-7 over East Tennessee State).
