KENNEWICK, Wash. – A local Starbucks announced it will close its doors for good on Saturday. This decision is part of a larger trend as Starbucks undergoes a nationwide restructuring plan.

According to an email sent to customers, the Starbucks located at 6607 West Canal Drive will cease all operations when business hours conclude on Saturday. Nonstop Local reached out to the location and confirmed the closure.

While the exact reasons behind the closure are not yet clear, it aligns with Starbucks’ recent announcement of a billion-dollar restructuring plan. On Thursday, CEO Brian Niccol stated that the company will shut down hundreds of stores this month, accounting for roughly 1% of its locations.

By the end of September, Starbucks plans to close about 400 locations across North America.
