WATERBURY, Conn. — Waterbury police and fire officials confirm that a 30-year-old man drowned in a city reservoir on Saturday afternoon.
At approximately 4:22 p.m., Waterbury police responded to a report of an adult male who had been swimming in the East Mountain Reservoir, located at 99 East Mountain Road.
The man reportedly went under the water and did not resurface.
Members of Waterbury’s police and fire departments responded to the scene, as did EMS personnel and the Region 5 Dive Team. Together, they conducted search and rescue efforts.
The man was eventually recovered from the water and taken to Saint Mary’s Hospital in the city, according to officials. There, he was pronounced dead.
