Budgam, Sep 27 : Jammu and Kashmir police on Saturday said that they have intensified their operations against illegal mining, resulting in the registration of two FIRs and the seizure of 24 vehicles over the past two weeks across Budgam district of Central Kashmir.

A statement issued here said that a police official from the Budgam police headquarters informed Rising Kashmir that during the last 14 days , two FIRs have been filed, and 24 vehicles have been confiscated throughout the district. “The seized vehicles comprise nine tippers, ten tractors, three JCBs and two LNT machines, which were impounded from Beerwah, Soibugh, Magam, Hard Panzoo, Khag and Humhama,” he said.

He said that the Budgam police in collaboration with the Minerals department, have also imposed fine
