COLUMBIA, S.C. — One moment, Kentucky football was on top of the world, leading South Carolina by three points early in the second quarter of Saturday night's game.

Mere minutes later, UK trailed by 11 points. First, a sack-and-score fumble for the Gamecocks. Then, two snaps later, USC recorded a pick-six interception. The same player was in the middle of both turnovers for the Wildcats : quarterback Cutter Boley , making his third career start — but first away from friendly Kroger Field .

Kentucky never recovered from those back-breaking blows, as its bad luck versus high-caliber competition continued in a 35-13 loss at Williams-Brice Stadium .
