AMES, Iowa (KCRG) - Iowa State came off of their bye week with a strong showing against the Arizona Wildcats.

Iowa state scored first and converted on a 2 point attempt to go up 8-0 in the first quarter. By halftime, the Cyclones had extended their lead to 22-7, and they kept the pedal down through the third quarter, adding a field goal in the fourth quarter to win the game 39-14.

Rocco Becht completed 14 of 20 passes for 243 yards and threw an interception. Carson Hansen led the rushing attack with 63 yards and 2 touchdowns on 19 carries.

The Cyclone defense held the Wildcats to 360 total yards of offense and picked off Arizona quarterback Benjamin Brahmer twice.

After celebrating the win, Iowa State looks to their next game against Cincinnati on October 4th. Kickoff is set for 11:00
