Kathy Ellis had spent three years living in a caravan in a friend's driveway with her two children when she finally moved into her new home in July.
"The relief of being able to sleep in my own bed after three years was indescribable," Ms Ellis told Nadia Mitsopoulos on ABC Radio Perth.
Ms Ellis was caught up in the Nicheliving building crisis and among hundreds who were desperate after the company took years longer than promised to complete their homes.
It ended late last year when the state government reached an agreement with Nicheliving directors Ronnie Michel-Elhaj and Paul Bitdorf to surrender their building licence.
In return, customers with incomplete homes would be allowed to access building indemnity insurance payments to complete their homes.
