Olivia Shaw scored a hat trick and assisted on two other goals for South Brunswick as it jumped out to an early lead against North Planfield and never looked back en route to an 8-2 win in Monmouth Junction.

Shaw scored the ice-breaking goal in the first quarter before Jocelyn Anbu tacked on a pair of goals to give South Brunswick a 3-0 lead after the opening frame.

A scoreless second quarter gave way to a third quarter that saw both teams find the back of the net twice, with Shaw scoring South Brunswick’s fourth goal and assist on its fifth.

Manya Nukala scored a pair of fourth-quarter goals and assisted on two others for South Brunswick (4-6).

Molly Savaryn scored both goals for North Plainfield (1-9).
