Starting the night behind the Cleveland Guardians and Detroit Tigers , Houston took a 2-0 lead against the Los Angeles Angels , but the bad news came from Cleveland.

Following back-to-back losses, the Guardians picked up the win, 3-2, with a walk-off in the ninth inning. The game ended in wild fashion, as CJ Kayfus was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Petey Halpin scored, and Cleveland beat Texas 3-2.
