President Donald Trump signed an order raising the fee for H-1B visas.
In the proclamation , the president claimed the change was due to companies abusing the program. An H-1B visa is a non-immigrant visa that allows companies to hire foreign workers for specialty jobs and typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher.
"There's probably hundreds of thousands of folks on those visas in the U.S. They grant 85,000 visas every year for most employers, but certain other employers are exempt from that limitation," said Olsi Vrapi, the managing partner for the Vrapi Weeks firm.
