The Montreal Canadiens have significantly trimmed their training camp roster after assigning 24 players to the Laval Rocket.
Among the players being sent down are goaltender Jacob Fowler, forwards Joshua Roy, Filip Mesar and Luke Tuch.
The moves reduce the main training camp roster to 34 players (19 forwards, 12 defensemen, and three goaltenders) as the Canadiens look to focus on the players that are pushing for a spot on the NHL roster.
The Laval Rocket’s training camp is set to open on Tuesday, September 30.
The team also loaned forward Vinzenz Rohrer back to the ZSC Lions of the Swiss National League (NL).
The 21-year-old Rohrer was selected in the third round of the 2022 NHL Draft and had 15 goals and 25 points in 52 games last season.
