STATE COLLEGE – Penn State’s coaching staff and players will focus on the way the team fought back in the fourth quarter against Oregon on Saturday night at Beaver Stadium, rallying from 14 points down to force overtime.

But the bigger issue was what transpired in the first three quarters and in both overtime periods: No. 6 Oregon (5-0, 2-0) was the better team in a 30-24 double overtime triumph.

Significantly better.

Dan Lanning’s Ducks outplayed favored Penn State in the first 45 minutes and outscored them 13-7 in extra time, winning the White Out game 30-24 in double overtime.

Penn State quarterback Drew Allar threw a pair of fourth-quarter touchdown passes to wideout Devonte Ross. He also ran for 42 yards on nine carries.
