STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Drew Allar sat in the Beaver Stadium media room with tears in his eyes and that costly, game-sealing throw firmly on his mind.

Allar’s double-overtime interception extinguished Penn State ’s hopes of a signature win against Oregon and crushed the White Out crowd’s dreams on Saturday night.

The No. 3-ranked Lions lost to No. 6 Oregon, 30-24, after a putrid offensive display through three quarters, a valiant comeback effort and, ultimately, Allar’s mistake.

After emerging from an emotional locker room, Allar was asked to explain what happened.

“I tried to get it over the guy’s head,” Allar said. “He jumped up and caught the ball.”
