A racist graffiti reading "Indian Rats" written near a children's park in Mississauga has sparked outrage among residents, especially Indo-Canadians. The incident has reignited concerns about rising hate crimes and racism in Canada, with many calling on Peel Police to take action and thus reassure the public.

The Indian immigrant who took the photo said, "I feel hurt by racism like this" revealing that they "routinely strolls past this walkway with my family". Highlighting the episodes of racism they faced in last three years in Canada, he said that people at a superstore often assume that he works there, despite wearing "baby pink" attire instead of blue, which is the dress code of employees there.
