Ispent the past two weeks with my husband on a trip celebrating 20 years of marriage.
Sadly, on the day of our anniversary, I got the news alerts that Charlie Kirk was assassinated while talking to college students in Utah.
I’ve been thinking about it ever since.
Kirk, 31, the successful conservative commentator and cofounder of Turning Point USA, died doing what he loved – engaging those who disagreed with him. Just this year, he had high-profile conversations with California Gov. Gavin Newsom and comedian Bill Maher , both of which are well worth a listen.
Kirk wasn’t in the business of trying to cancel those with different views. Rather, he wanted to debate them face-to-face and battle ideas through free speech – the tremendous right we have in this country.
