In the premium hatchback category, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno continues to dominate, taking on rivals like the Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz. Month after month, it posts strong numbers, with sales of 12,549 units in August and 12,503 units in July.
Recently, Maruti Suzuki — the country’s largest carmaker — announced a notable price cut across its passenger vehicle lineup, following the revision of Goods and Services Tax (GST) on automobiles.
The base variant of the Baleno now costs Rs 5.98 lakh (ex-showroom).
