Big Ten volleyball was the nation’s measuring stick last season, producing the national champion (Penn State), another Final Four team (Nebraska), and two of the four national player-of-the-year finalists.

Now, as league play begins, the question looms: can the Big Ten match — or even exceed — that success in 2025?

The 10-week race for the Big Ten championships last year came down to the last night, with Nebraska and Penn State being co-champions at 19-1.

So this year, can the Big Ten get two (or more) teams back to the Final Four? The SEC also looks strong with Texas and Kentucky.

The opening matches of the Big Ten season were on Wednesday, and continue for Nebraska on Saturday against Maryland.
