Recently the majority of the Sarasota County School Board voted to change the board’s meeting time to 10 a.m., making it difficult for students, staff and working parents to attend.

School Board Member Karen Rose tried to gaslight the community by stating that many issues presented at meetings were “not appropriate” for them because there were other “roads” to take.

Rose said the School Board had the fiduciary responsibility of the budget, the policies and "providing oversight to a superintendent "

She also berated those who regularly attend the School Board meetings, and implied that they were outsiders with political agendas. In fact, most attendees are proponents of public education who fear it is under attack by people like Rose.
