Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport and several schools received bomb threat emails on Sunday, prompting heightened security measures and investigations by the police. The emails, sent to approximately 100 to 150 addresses, claimed to be from a group called "Terrorise 111" and warned of bombs planted at various locations, threatening explosions within 24 hours.
Authorities quickly responded to the threats, particularly at two schools: CRPF Public School in Dwarka and Sarvodaya Vidyalaya near Qutub Minar. After thorough searches by police, fire personnel, and bomb disposal units, the threats were declared hoaxes, with no suspicious items found.
In a related incident, a private airline at Jammu airport also received a bomb threat email earlier on the same day. Security forces, including the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), conducted a comprehensive search, which concluded without any disruption to air traffic or discovery of explosives. An official from the Airport Authority of India confirmed that the email was a hoax.
The Delhi police are continuing their investigation to trace the source of these threatening emails. This incident follows a series of similar threats in recent months, which have caused panic and led to evacuations in various schools across the capital. Authorities are taking these threats seriously and are working to ensure the safety of the public.
