ST. CLOUD — Over the summer, Kate Nordstrom’s favorite day of the week was Wednesday. That was the day the Speech-Language Pathology graduate student got to work with a 2-year-old boy, helping him become more confident and communicate with others.

“I loved my little kiddo,” said Nordstrom, a St. Cloud State University student. “One of my most treasured memories working with him was that he was very shy on the first day, but then by the next week, we brought out all the Paw Patrol coloring sheets, fun games and books, and he joined in right away.”

Nordstrom worked as a student clinician at SCSU’s Pediatric Outreach for Unique Needs in Communication Education (POUNCE).
