US President Donald Trump is deploying troops to another Democrat-led US city, authorising them to use “full force if necessary” as tensions escalate over ongoing protests in Portland, Oregon.

President Trump claims Portland is war-ravaged and being overrun by domestic terrorists, but local authorities say that’s simply not true.

The President is sending troops to protect Immigration and Customs Enforcement facilities, authorising full force if necessary. Trump is claiming the city is under siege from anti-fascist protesters and domestic terrorists, with ICE agents reporting a more than 1000 per cent increase in assaults.

“Anyone who threatens or assaults our federal officers will be arrested and charged federally,” US attorney general Pam Bondi said.
