I’ve always been enamored with the idea of lake life. Over the years, I’ve visited a variety of friends and family at their lakeside cottages in the Midwest and have always loved the idea of that life — having a little home away from home to spend lazy summer days.

During some of those final summer days in mid-September, we made our way to Bass Lake in Knox, a place I’ve visited over the years as a teen and adult and where I've made fun memories. My husband and I stayed at The Lakehouse & Cabana, a cozy Airbnb that offers all the comforts of home, along with lovely views and an abundance of relaxing lake life vibes.
