HELLTOWN, Calif. - Crews from CAL FIRE Butte Unit have contained a vegetation fire burning along Nimshew Road on Friday afternoon.

CAL FIRE says that one engine, one water tender, and a volunteer engine responded to the 13000 block of Nimshew Road near Helltown after smoke was reported in the area.

Upon arrival at the scene, crews found a small vegetation fire that had burned around one-eighth of an acre.

Firefighters were able to quickly stop the forward progress of the fire at around one-eighth of an acre.

CAL FIRE says there is hand line around the fire and that crews will remain at the scene for the next one to two hours performing mop-up of the burn area.

The fire was visible on the Sawmill Lookout 1 AlertCalifornia camera.
