Mumbai, Sep 28: A 55-year-old man, Abtullah Baig, was injured in a shooting incident early Sunday morning in Malad East, after an altercation with a longtime acquaintance turned violent. The incident took place around 5:30 a.m. at Obaid Compound in Sanjay Nagar.

According to police, Baig and the accused were sitting together when the acquaintance suddenly pulled out a pistol and fired a shot near Baig’s ear before fleeing the scene. The bullet grazed Baig below his ear, causing a serious injury.

Baig was initially taken to DNA Hospital nearby and later shifted to JJ Hospital for advanced treatment. Doctors have confirmed that his condition is stable and he is currently recuperating.
