SRINAGAR : Police have seized seven vehicles allegedly involved in illegal excavation and transportation of minerals in Handwara as part of its intensified action against unlawful mining in the district. Follow Us On G -N e w s | Whatsapp

According to officials, police teams from Langate, Chogul and Magam posts, acting under the supervision of senior officers, intercepted and seized six tractors and one JCB machine during the drive. The vehicles were allegedly being used for illegal transportation of minerals.

Proceedings under the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act have been initiated, and further investigation is underway, police said.
