IOWA CITY, Iowa — Indiana football coach Curt Cignetti didn’t need to go searching for Fernando Mendoza on the sidelines after the quarterback threw his first interception of the season Saturday in a 20-15 win over Iowa.

In their short-time working together, Cignetti has come to recognize that Mendoza is a perfectionist with a will to win that rivals his own.
