Throughout Saturday's four-ball match alongside Shane Lowry, McIlroy faced relentless jeering from the raucous New York crowd. The hostile atmosphere prompted varied responses, with one ex-PGA Tour professional confessing he was "horrified" by the comments directed at the Northern Irishman.
