SAGINAW, MI - With the sound of Revolutionary-era fifes and drums marking the start of the day, history enthusiasts flooded in to experience the River of Time.

The living history event is in its third year at Johnson Pumpkin Farm in Saginaw, having previously being held in Bay City Veterans Memorial Park.

The weekend long event invites the public to watch demonstrations, reenactments and immersive encampments with many dressed in era-accurate clothing.

Josh Tuzes, treasurer and ground coordinator for the Bay City River of Time, explained how the immersive style of teaching can help understand history on a deeper level.
