A man is dead after a single-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon. The Stanton County Sheriff's Office says 50-year-old Steve Hastreiter, a local farmer of Madison, died.

Investigators say Hastreiter's pickup truck was traveling off a gravel road and hit a dirt embankment south of Highway 32.

Hastreiter's family found the wreckage Saturday evening after he did not return home. The pickup was totaled, and Hastreiter was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Stanton County Sheriff's Office says Hastreiter was not wearing a seatbelt.
