Iconic interviewer, broadcast journalist and author Barbara Walters died on Dec. 30, 2022, at the age of 93. “She lived her life with no regrets. She was a trailblazer not only for female journalists, but for all women,” her publicist Cindi Berger also said in a statement, adding Walters died peacefully at her New York home. Walters, born on Sep. 25, 1929, in Boston, Mass., broke numerous barriers for women in journalism, including being the first woman anchor for a network evening news program when she became the co-anchor of 'ABC World News Tonight' in 1976 for an unprecedented salary of $1 million a year.
