The liquor drinkers are back.

After The Citadel’s 38-0 season opening loss to top-ranked North Dakota State, Bulldogs head coach Maurice Drayton said his team needed a few more ‘liquor drinkers’ on the team.

Mission accomplished.

Quentin Hayes rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns as The Citadel ran for a season-high 336 yards on the ground to beat Chattanooga 28-10 at Finley Stadium in Chattanooga, Tenn., on Sept. 27.

The Citadel (2-3, 2-1 in SoCon) finished with a season-high 433 yards of total offense as the Bulldogs reached deep into their playbook and broke out the triple-option.

The Bulldogs, who recorded 26 first downs, controlled the line of scrimmage and held the ball for more than 36 minutes.
