Mike Tomlin has been the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers since January 2007, becoming only the third person to hold that role since 1969. As of the 2025 season, he is the NFL’s longest-tenured active head coach.
His 18 seasons with the Steelers have been historic, marked by achievements no previous coach in team history had accomplished. In just his second season, Tomlin led the Steelers to a 27–23 victory over the Arizona Cardinals in Super Bowl XLIII, becoming the youngest head coach ever to both coach in and win a Super Bowl at 36 years and 323 days old, a record later broken by Sean McVay.
By winning the Super Bowl so early in his tenure, Tomlin became the fastest head coach in Steelers history to claim a championship. With such success, it’s no surprise that fans often ask
