BETHPAGE, N.Y. — There is at least one instance of cooler heads prevailing at a Ryder Cup that has been marred by outrageous heckling from New York fans and verbal confrontations with members of Team Europe.

Scottie Scheffler’s caddie Ted Scott posted a video to social media on Sunday morning apologizing to Team Europe assistant captain Francesco Molinari after an animated argument and near dust-up between the two on Saturday.

“I’m here with Francesco Molinari. This guy right here has always been just a very sweet spirited man,” Scott says in the video. “And we had a heated moment yesterday, and what many of you don’t realize is we got over it, by the time we walked off the 16th tee, it was over.”
