The City of Jacksonville Emergency Preparedness Division is taking precautions and closely monitoring Tropical Depression Nine, which is expected to strengthen over the next few days.

As of the storm’s projected track, the city said it has not planned any evacuation orders, shelter openings or schedule changes for city offices, the Jacksonville Transportation Authority or Duval County Public Schools.

The storm is expected to bring life-threatening rip currents and hazardous boating conditions on the coast, strong wind gusts, and heavy rains that could lead to flooding in low-lying neighborhoods.
