A 16-year-old boy from South Jamaica has been charged with murder in the fatal shooting of 13-year-old Sanjay Samuel in Queens, prosecutors announced Saturday, according CBS News New York.
The incident occurred on the morning of Sept. 22 outside a Dunkin’ Donuts in Cambria Heights, where the teens reportedly argued before the older boy shot Samuel in the head and fled, the report indicated.
Samuel, who was on his way to school, died two days later at a local hospital CBS News said.
According to the publication, the suspect turned himself in to police on Friday and was arraigned Saturday.
The teen faces up to 25 years to life in prison if convicted.
