COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- The Ohio State Buckeyes are still the No. 1 team in the nation and have widened the gap from its closest national title rivals after a historic Week 5 of upsets.
Ohio State (4-0, 1-0) was once again voted by the coaches as the top-ranked team in the nation in the USA Today poll. The Buckeyes started Big Ten play with a 24-9 victory over Washington in Seattle, continuing its streak of allowing less than 10 points in each game this season.
That top-spot for the Buckeyes was solidified even further after one of the craziest weeks in college football history. Three top-five teams (Penn State, LSU, and Georgia) all lost on Saturday, marking the earliest that has happened in a season since 2008.
