PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- 'Spirit of Halloweentown' returned to St. Helens on Saturday, September 27.

The month-long festival got underway with the pumpkin lighting ceremony hosted by two of Disney's 'Halloweentown' franchise starts, Kimberly J. Brown and Daniel Kountz casting a spell on 'Jack' the jack-o-lantern.

Brown was the star of the first three Disney Channel Original Movies, Halloweentown, where she played a teen witch named Marnie Piper. Her now husband, Daniel Kountz, played her co-star in the second movie as the villain named Kal.

The cult classic has drawn fans to St. Helens for years now with the 'Spirt of Halloweentown' event. The small northwest town of St. Helens is where the first movie was shot on location and where many of the iconic buildings look the same today as th
