The Cleveland Browns appeared to be ready to welcome right tackle Jack Conklin back to the lineup this week against the Detroit Lions after Saturday’s practice squad elevations did not include an offensive lineman.

Unfortunately, that is not the case, as Conklin will miss his third consecutive game while dealing with an elbow injury after the Browns released their gameday inactives for the 1 p.m. contest at Ford Field.

In the category of “not a surprise,” the Browns have apparently soured on cornerback Cameron Mitchell, as he is a gameday inactive for the second consecutive week after struggling in the Week 2 meeting against the Baltimore Ravens.

Cleveland’s full inactive list includes: • Quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who will once again serve as the emergency third-string quarterback
