Multiple people have been shot at a Mormon church in Michigan and the shooter is down, police said Sunday.

The shooting occurred at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc, about 50 miles (80 kilometers) north of Detroit, local police said in a social media post. The church was on fire. It was started by the shooter.

The suspect is a 40-year-old man, according to local police. The shooter drove a vehicle through the front doors of the church and then began shooting a gun. Ten people were shot. One of the victims has died and the suspect is dead. No motive has been established yet.

Multiple local and federal law enforcement officials are now on the scene and investigating. The church was active at the time of the shooting with hundreds of people attending a service
