Happy with any road win, Tulane football coach Jon Sumrall nevertheless made it very clear Saturday the trip home to New Orleans would be uncomfortable for anyone near him.

The Green Wave’s American Conference-opening 31-14 win at Tulsa was too sloppy for his taste — particularly the festival of flags his team incurred during the fourth quarter when the game was in hand. Tulane was penalized a whopping eight times in less than 11 minutes, starting with kick catch interference on Armani Cargo and ending with pass interference on linebacker Chris Rodgers.
