ACCORD, N.Y. — Nassau Community College pulled off a 4-2 upset win over seventh-ranked SUNY Ulster in a Region XV men’s soccer game at Rondout Valley High on Saturday, Sept. 27.
The Senators (6-2-1) trailed 2-1 at the half with their only goal coming from North Rockland High product Mohamed Fadl in the 42nd minute. Pine Bush’s Sergio Gonzalez assisted on the goal.
SUNY Ulster tied it at 2-2 early in the second half when Ellenville High’s Matt Urquia beat the keeper on an assist from Caleb Nicolas of Washingtonville.
Nassau took a 3-2 lead with a goal in the 57th minute and added an insurance score in the 78th minute.
SUNY Ulster created some good scoring opportunities in the second half, but couldn’t find the back of the net.
