The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notification on Sunday, September 28, appointing IAS officer Rajiv Verma as the new Chief Secretary of Delhi. He will take over the post from 1 October. Rajiv Verma will replace the current Chief Secretary Dharmendra, who is retiring on 30 September.

The notification states that “With the approval of the competent authority, Mr. Rajiv Verma, IAS (AgMut: 1992) has been transferred from Chandigarh to Delhi Government (GNCTD) as Chief Secretary from 1 October 2025 or from the date of taking charge from 1 October 2025 or from the date of taking charge.”
