Karur stampede toll rises to 40; probe begins as parties visit victims’ families, CM Stalin reviews relief measures

xChennai: After seething in rage on Saturday night following the stampede at an election rally of Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), Karur town slowly returned to normal on Sunday with families of those who lost their lives collecting the bodies that were handed over to them after postmortem and leaders of all political parties, other than the TVK, visiting the homes of the deceased and consoling the bereaved relatives and friends.
