The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam suspended operations at four coastal airports, including Danang, on Sunday, as tropical storm Bualoi bore down on the Southeast Asian country. Authorities simultaneously instructed mass evacuations across vulnerable regions. The government warned that northern and central coastal regions face downpours ranging from 100 millimetres to over 600 millimetres through Tuesday, risking flash floods and landslides that threaten lives and infrastructure.
Response measures were swift.
