Oregon claimed the No. 2 spot in the , marking the top of the poll with the first of several shakeups.

Miami, which had an open date, slipped one spot to No. 3 and was followed by top-5 newcomers No. 4 Mississippi and No. 5 Oklahoma. That’s a nine-rung promotion for Ole Miss, which beat LSU Saturday, giving the Rebels their highest ranking since 2015.

Ohio State remained No. 1 for the fifth straight week, but the margin in first-place votes between the top two teams is the closest of the regular season.
