GLOBE, Ariz. — On Sunday, officials in Globe said that three people had died in flooding in the city.
Currently, the names of the victims are not being released.
Friday night, heavy rains overwhelmed waterways in and around Globe, Miami, Claypool, and San Carlos, leading to significant flooding.
On Sunday, Globe Mayor Al Gamero said there were around 200 people helping with the recovery effort in the city. He said the priority is search and rescue.
Gameros also said they expect several hundred people to be helping with cleanup in the coming days.
On Saturday, Governor Katie Hobbs declared a state of emergency due to the flooding in the city.
The declaration will release $200,000 from the Governor’s Emergency Fund, with the Arizona Division of Emergency Management coordinating these e
