The Celtics lost another member of their 2024 title squad on Sunday as Al Horford agreed to a deal with the Warriors ahead of the start of training camp. Horford will sign a multi-year deal according to a league source. Shams Charania of ESPN.com was first to report the signing.
While it was unclear what Horford’s plan would be as he turned 39 this summer, the answer is that he wants to continue his NBA career. It’s just that it’ll come with the Warriors instead of the Celtics. Horford will now get a chance to compete with a Golden State team that made the second round last season alongside Stephen Curry.
