The Alabama Crimson Tide made a significant leap into the top 10 of The Associated Press college football poll, while their in-state rival, Auburn University, is out of the rankings completely.

Following a dramatic 24-21 road victory over then-No. 5 Georgia, Alabama catapulted seven spots to land at No. 10 in the latest poll released Sunday. The crucial Southeastern Conference win improved the Crimson Tide's record to 3-1 and re-established them as a national contender after an early-season loss. The Bulldogs, meanwhile, tumbled seven spots to No. 12 after the defeat.
