At least two people are dead, including the gunman, and nine others are being treated at local hospitals following a mass shooting and fire at a Grand Blanc Township church on the morning of Sunday, Sept. 28.
“We do believe that we will find some additional victims,” Renye said.
The church, which is on McCandlish Road between Holly and Saginaw roads, was full with "hundreds" of people attending services about 10:25 a.m., when a gunman rammed a vehicle into the building and began shooting an assault rifle, "firing several rounds at individuals within the church," Renye said.
He credited two trained officers — one from the township police department and one from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources — for stopping the shooter.
